BASIS FOR CHRITIAN ETHICS
Key Verse: Pslam 119:105
"Thy word is a lamop unto my feet and a light unto my path."
I would like you all to think about these three things, in reference to Manna (bread) as you read this nugget:
1. It was to be collected each day.
2. It was best gathered early.
3. One days supply could not be carried over to the next day.
It is not old fashion to read and study God's word. God's word is fresh food for the body and soul.
Now let us look at this nugget. We hope this will bless your walk thru life’s journey and give you courage to live a powerful life for God. We are all inexperience in too much of life to be without a guide. God’s word is our guide. God’s word gives us direction and wisdom concerning long range plans for our path. It is time to ask ourselves how are we behaving in the public areas of our life? God has given us boundaries for right behavior. The only way we can learn these broundaries is a continual reading and studying of God’s word. This is how we hear and receive. God is very concerned how we are responding to each other. How many find it easy to find the time to read and study God’s word? Think about this for a moment – was it easy for you to learn and do anything? We had to do it over and over again in order to understand and “get it”. It would be so nice if we all could hit home runs every time we were up to bat. IF you are like me, the first time I rode a bike – I fell off of it. But, that didn’t stop me. I got back on it and kept “learning” to ride the bike. We can only become good, if we practice it. Let us put that truth into practice. Let’s put God’s word into practice. God’s word can only change us as we spend time reading the word of God. I am speaking from personal experience, by doing this you will have God’s blessing in your life. When we are working to put something together we sometimes refer to a manual, for instructions. When we take a road trip, we spend time in planning beforehand and look at a map (or at google maps, mapquest, etc) in order to get directions. Should or could it just be the same in our lives. God’s word will always shine a light on all our ways,. Please child of God seek him more than ever before, talk to him. He said in Jeremiah 33:3, “Call on me and I will answer you and show you the great and might things which you do not know.” Remember we are all His people. He loves us. Let me assure you all when no one is listening, He always hears. God never sleeps or slumbers. He is very aware of you and all that is happening to and with you. Paul told Timothy that God’s word is very important for Godly living. Matthew tells us that storms will come, but as we stay on the rock, Jesus Christ, in his word we will weather the storms. If you find yourself not lining up to God’s word ask Him for help, cry out to Him. Look it is very important that we do not try to follow everything that man tells us. A Good test to use - how is what you followed, from man, working out for you? in your life? We need pastors and teachers who are lead by God. Not everything that is being taught will help you. Seek God about everything in your life. Our focus must be on pleasing and obeying Him.
Before I go, I know this practice worked for our forefathers in the faith. Don’t turn around and leave off God’s ways of living no matter who stops standing on God’s word. Stand, STAND on God’s word. God is not a God that he should not tell you the truth. Hide the word in your heart that you might not sin against God.
